Small Space Solutions with Big Impact - Adding a Laundry Center in a Powder Room
When designing for a remodel, we cannot tell you how often we face challenges with where to put the laundry room. Most people prefer to do laundry inside the house (vs. the garage) and in small spaces, this can be challenging. In this project, after much design debate, we decided to place the laundry center into the powder room. We are thrilled with the results. Originally, I wanted to enclose the washer and dryer behind pocket doors, however it turned out to be a little complex & expensive, so the client opted to keep the laundry open. We think this little space turned out beautiful and functional. The cabinet to the right has roll out trays for laundry baskets and storage and the overall feeling is zen and peaceful. We opted for a wall-mounted toilet to provide easier access to the cabinetry. The earthy, wabi sabi sink from Stone Forest and the beautiful custom walnut cabinets really showcase the clients' aesthetic and functional needs.
